The topmost layer is the quilted plush top. This is created by sewing ticking and comfortable filling materials to the surface, so it feels both soft and springy. Once this final tier of comfort is secured, our artisans conduct a few more upholstery techniques to finish it all off. They seal the edge of the mattress with an overlocking stitch. Above this they stitch a narrow piece of fabric around the edge, creating a beautifully hand-sewn welt that lines the entire mattress perimeter. Lastly the mattress' name is embroidered for an elegant final touch. |
