Leadership

At Custom Comfort Mattress we take pride in our work and have a dedicated leadership team in place committed to our mission and company philosophy. Let us introduce you to our team and find out what sleep means to each of them.

Mel Trudell

President/CEO

Mel is the President and founder of Custom Comfort Mattress. He started in the mattress industry at the age of 15, working part time at a local mattress company. He went from sweeping the floor to manufacturing and finally sales- learning the mattress industry from the inside out. After several years learning the business, Mel and his brother Marty Trudell had saved enough to purchase equipment to open their own factory and retail store, a dream which became Custom Comfort Mattress. They started out manufacturing high quality mattresses themselves by hand and selling them directly to the consumer. Mel has been able to expand the Custom Comfort family of employees and focus on leading and directing the company as it continues to grow.

What sleep means to Mel

I look forward to getting in my bed and I sleep all night. If I don't have my bed with me I simply don't experience the same rest.  That is why I like traveling in my motor home (with my Custom Comfort beds, of course).  A good night's sleep re-energizes me for the day ahead"

Gary Trudell

Owner/Sales

From 1988 to 1991 Gary worked for a delivery service doing mattress deliveries. In 1992 he became a full time Custom Comfort employee- running the delivery department, manufacturing box springs and doing all the shipping and receiving. In late 1993 Gary opened his own store in Fullerton. A few years later in late 1996, he decided to open an Orange location in partnership with Mel and Marty. In 2001 Gary went back to Mission Viejo so Mel and Jeremy could move the factory to Anaheim Hills, and from 2001 to early 2010 his core job has been sales. In early 2010 he started the transition to working on the business rather than in the business.

What sleep means to Gary

Sleep is the most important thing your body needs to stay healthy. You can work 60 hours a week, can work out 6 days a week, and eat healthy, but if you don't get a good night's sleep it will all be for naught. I was once asked what is the number one reason CCM has had success. The answer to that question is simply that we help provide a good night's rest"

Jeremy Solis

Director of Operations

Jeremy started sweeping the floors in the factory as an after school job and has moved through almost every area of the company including Delivery, Sales, Production and Management.

As Director of Operations Jeremy oversees the areas of purchasing, manufacturing, product development, and delivery to ensure Custom Comfort is providing excellent Quality, Service, and Value to its customers.

What sleep means to Jeremy

Sleep is a very important recharge for me. Between work and my family, my energy is consumed daily and I need my sleep to be able to keep up. I could not operate without it. At the end of a long and eventful day the worst thing that could happen would be to get home, climb in bed and not be able to sleep. A properly supportive and comfortable mattress guarantees me a good night's rest. I'm out as soon as my head hits the pillow and I'm up when the alarm goes off the next morning. In fact, I sleep so well at home I really hate to travel. There is no bed like my bed"

Maroun Nehme

Director of Sales

Maroun started in the delivery department, and later moved into the warehouse to oversee shipping and receiving.  In 2000, he went into Sales full time where he also developed systems and procedures to improve efficiency and uniformity.

In 2004, he took on the role of Director of Sales- overseeing staffing, training, developing managers/leaders, and directing the operations of the entire department. In 2008, Maroun graduated with his MBA in Management from Cal State Fullerton to further help the growth of Custom Comfort Mattress.

What sleep means to Maroun

Sleep is a very important part of my life as it affects how I function throughout the day in areas like my thought process, my alertness, my attitudes towards others, my health, etc. I spend more time in bed than I do in my car, watching TV, on my computer, and at the gym combined; and I don't even sleep 8 hours a night.  Therefore, having a very comfortable, supportive, high quality mattress is a priority for me.  It is also the one place I spend the most time with my wife, and you bet I want it to be very comfortable"

Marielle Stoermer

Director of Marketing

Marielle joined Custom Comfort Mattress after a few  years of staying home to raise her children. She was previously employed by a financial group as Director of Strategic Planning and National Sales.

Marielle has always been involved in marketing and advertising since graduating from college with an MBA in Quantitative Analysis. She is totally responsible for all marketing for Custom Comfort Mattress.

What sleep means to Marielle

As one gets older it seems that sleep becomes more elusive. Since I've had my bed from Custom Comfort Mattress, I have been able to sleep longer. I have always had problems sleeping, as I felt I did not need as much sleep. But now that I am older, it  has become more important for my health and well being. My  whole family sleeps on CCM  beds. When our son  left for  college he brought a CCM bed with him"

Leonard Escudero

Director of Finance

Leonard has spent the last 16 years practicing in both public accounting and the private sector. He has been involved with small closely held family businesses in various industries such as Manufacturing, Distribution, Retail, Health & Medical Professionals, Entertainment, and Construction for a majority of his career.

What sleep means to Leonard

Enough can't be said about the significant importance of a good nights rest, therefore, what better to do it on then a quality crafted mattress from Custom Comfort. As much as an old friend or  smile rejuvenates a soul, does a good nights sleep rejuvenate the mind and body"
