Mel Trudell
President/CEO

Mel is the President and founder of Custom Comfort Mattress. He started in the mattress industry at the age of 15, working part time at a local mattress company. He went from sweeping the floor to manufacturing and finally sales- learning the mattress industry from the inside out. After several years learning the business, Mel and his brother Marty Trudell had saved enough to purchase equipment to open their own factory and retail store, a dream which became Custom Comfort Mattress. They started out manufacturing high quality mattresses themselves by hand and selling them directly to the consumer. Mel has been able to expand the Custom Comfort family of employees and focus on leading and directing the company as it continues to grow.

Gary Trudell
Owner/Sales

From 1988 to 1991 Gary worked for a delivery service doing mattress deliveries. In 1992 he became a full time Custom Comfort employee- running the delivery department, manufacturing box springs and doing all the shipping and receiving. In late 1993 Gary opened his own store in Fullerton. A few years later in late 1996, he decided to open an Orange location in partnership with Mel and Marty. In 2001 Gary went back to Mission Viejo so Mel and Jeremy could move the factory to Anaheim Hills, and from 2001 to early 2010 his core job has been sales. In early 2010 he started the transition to working on the business rather than in the business.
