Mel Trudell, President and New Business Development
Founder and President Mel Trudell first discovered a love for the handmade at age 15—during his first task at a mattress company: sweeping the factory floor. As simple as the job was, it gave him the unique opportunity to examine firsthand the industry’s modern standards and techniques. Mel soon discovered an urgent need for improvement. In subsequent years, after exploring the industry at every level and from every angle, Mel resolved to create Custom Comfort Mattress. He called upon the traditional American craft of mattress-making, beginning by personally constructing each mattress by hand. Mel has since built a family-owned business and several collections of luxury centered on an unswerving commitment to handcrafted quality.
Gary Trudell, Owner and New Business Development
Gary began his Custom Comfort career in delivery. During this time he invested time in learning the handmade craft. This wide range of experience allowed Gary to open his own showroom in Fullerton and a joint showroom with Mel and brother Marty in Orange. Gary now works with the executive team to develop and implement innovative business strategies.

Paddy works with the management team to support improved performance in all aspects of the company.
Jeremy Solis, Director of Operations
Jeremy launched his career at a young age as a floor-sweeper in the Custom Comfort workshop. After committing time in all departments, Jeremy gathered sufficient experience to excel in his position as Director of Operations. He currently manages purchasing, manufacturing, delivery, and product development.
